Summary/Abstract: Before undertaking any contrastive or translation-oriented analysis of meteorological phraseology, it is necessary to address a preliminary problem that may appear modest but has significant methodological implications: what criteria make it possible to distinguish, within the vast repertoire of expressions containing a meteorological term, those that constitute genuine phraseological units from those that are merely literal descriptions of weather conditions? This article addresses this delimitation problem by proposing four operational criteria: fixity, idiomaticity, reproducibility, and semantic domain shift, which make it possible to establish, in a replicable manner, the working corpus for phraseological research focused on the meteorological domain. It presents a theoretical reflection of modest scope and deliberately limited focus, conceived as the methodological foundation for a broader research project.
