Summary/Abstract: This article explores the attitudinal and affective dimensions of language learning in the tandem acquisition of French (L2) and Spanish (L3) in a Romanian secondary school context of sociolinguistics. Drawing on a qualitative and quantitative study applied to a group of 28 high school students, the research investigates motivational factors, perceived effort, emotional resonance, and intercultural perceptions associated with the two Romance languages. The findings highlight affective transfer, metacognitive strategies, and typologies of learners that emerge from the parallel study of French and Spanish. Results are discussed in the light of established theories on multilingualism, language learning motivation, and the emotional dimension of linguistic acquisition. By expanding the analysis with comparative insights from European and global studies, the article emphasizes how the tandem study of two Romance languages contributes to identity construction, affective positioning, and intercultural openness of adolescents in secondary education.
