TOWARDS EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION. THE DEVELOPMENT OF PRAGMATIC COMPETENCE IN LEARNING ENGLISH WITH THE PRACTICING PRAGMATICS FUN DECK

Summary/Abstract: This study focuses on the development of pragmatic competence in teaching English, with particular emphasis on assessing the effectiveness of the educational tool "Practicing Pragmatics Fun Deck". The primary goal was to examine the extent to which this mobile application supports the development of students' pragmatic competence. The research involved a literature review and an evaluation of the selected application. The findings indicate that available educational materials insufficiently address pragmatic aspects, while the "Practicing Pragmatics Fun Deck" app, despite some limitations, proves to be a valuable tool that can help bridge this gap. Based on this, recommendations were made to integrate pragmatic elements into English language teaching programs.
