Summary/Abstract: Learning a foreign language is not just about mastering phrases. It also requires basic knowledge about the country, which not only broadens general knowledge but also helps in better understanding of the nation. It helps students avoid traps that await language users who lack knowledge of the realities, history, geography, culture, or social customs of the target country. The presented A1/A2 level tasks in German are aimed at developing intercultural and lexical competence. They can be used either as a separate lesson plan or selectively. The proposed types of tasks are also suitable for use with other topics.
