Summary/Abstract: The main subject of the presented chemistry lesson in German at the A2/B1 level are the definitions of chemical compounds. The students acquaint themselves with the specialist vocabulary given in the glossary and put scattered parts of definitions in the right order. They also develop reading and listening comprehension, translating and speaking skills as well as practise pronunciation. A combination of different teaching methods and types of tasks (individual and team work, completing the gaps, placing the words into the correct sentence structure, answering the questions, writing down the chemical formulas) helps students develop the skills, retain the knowledge they acquire and create an effective lesson.
