Summary/Abstract: Picturebooks are not only an excellent tool for developing language competence and promoting literacy skills, but they can also support the integration of students with migration experience in an increasingly diverse and dynamically changing environment. The article introduces key developmental benefits of incorporating picturebooks in an English lessons with young learners and provides an overview of the most important aspects of an inclusive English lesson working with children with a migration background. The aim of this article is to present, step by step, the stages of working with a picturebook in a classroom with students with migration experience, as well as to propose a lesson plan based on a picturebook Home by Carson Ellis.
