Summary/Abstract: The article looks at the functioning of the childcare institutions before and after entering into force the law on providing childcare for children under the age of three of 4 February 2011. Using the data and information from the Central Statistical Office, Ministry of Labour and Social Policy, Social Insurance Institution, as well as academic research, the authors analyse the changes in number of various childcare institutions (nurseries, children clubs, childcare assistant and nannies).
