Summary/Abstract: In 1979, a number of 8 old Romanian prints of patrimonial value were examined at the Orthodox Parish in Oarda de Sus, and the notes from that time, the output of the respective examination, constitute the main, unpublished material of this work. In addition, 12 more titles of old Romanian books can be identified in the specialized bibliography, which were, over time, part of the cultural endowment of the respective community of parishioners (divided from a specific moment into united and non-united ones), which has a special historical relevance (while many other copies of books with local impact will have been lost, as in the case of so many other Transylvanian Romanian communities of the mentioned centuries, due to various destructive factors). The purpose of the current re-evaluation of these old bibliographic references is to extract new information about local history, as well as to highlight the special documentary-historical value of the old fixed and used prints in the Romanian confessional life from Oarda de Sus, over time (as many as have been preserved, often by real miracle). At the same time, an introductory historical study was also attempted, with the revelation of some aspects of local history from the 13th-16th/17th centuries, extended to later centuries as well.
