OFFPRINTS AND BOOKLETS WITH THE BOOKPLATES OF ADALBERT CSERNI, FROM THE LIBRARY OF THE MUSEUM FROM ALBA IULIA

Summary/Abstract: Through this study we attempted to interpret the presence in the library of the museum from Alba Iulia of 50 offprints and printings with a restricted number of pages, which belonged to Adalbert Cserni, or were introduced in the respective book collection, by the same scholar, while he was a librarian. The respective printings, most of them with the bookplate of Adalbert Cserni (handwritten or stamped bookplates), or having underlines drawn by the same self-educated culture lover, reveal at the same time different professional relations that Adalbert Cserni maintained along 1890-1912, with important personalities of Roman history research, contemporaneous to him. Scientific relations, emphasised through the circulation of the printing offprints, by mail, confirm also the fact that Adalbert Cserni was a personality of continental fame, at his time, more important savants of the time being preoccupied with sending him the excerpts of their studies.
