Summary/Abstract: In this paper, through the examples of oikonyms in Bosnia and Herzegovina, we talked about the religious beliefs of the people who inhabited this area for centuries until today. Examples of religious and pagan motifs were confirmed in the basis of oikonyms, and their number and diversity made them attractive for research in order to shape the image of religious pluralism in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as an image of a multi-confessional society in which diversity represents wealth and advantage. In this regard, there is a complete review of the motives that belong to religion in a broader sense, i.e. they are a part of sacred lexicons whether they are realionyms or mythonyms, theonyms or hagionyms, along with a number of their oikonymic reflections. In a significant number of examples, we are dealing with oikonyms in whose basis rest the names from ancient beliefs that have passed into the passive lexical layer in the Bosnian language, so oikonyms are solitary confirmations of their former existence.
