UniArt Gallery as a University Exhibition Environment: Space, Display, and Education

Summary/Abstract: The article examines the university gallery as a specific exhibition and educational environment in which architecture, display strategies, engagement with original works of art, and the academic context interact dynamically. UniArt Gallery at New Bulgarian University is introduced as a Bulgarian case study through which the university gallery is analysed as a space that connects display, interpretation, learning, and the formation of visual thinking. The text traces how space participates in the construction of meaning by directing the viewer’s gaze, movement, and interpretative activity. The gallery is considered an intermediate form between a museum, an exhibition space, and a learning laboratory, where exhibition practice becomes a process of education, interpretation, and dialogue.
