Summary/Abstract: The aim of the article is to identify, analyse, and compare key social actors of transformation in three interconnected spheres: labour, identities, and citizenship. The selection of these spheres is based on three groups of considerations. First, they are crucial for understanding the multifaceted dynamics of the multiplication and diversification of social actors in a context of polycrisis and accelerated social transformations. Second, they encompass the main analytical fields within which the contributions to this special issue unfold, thus enabling a comparative and interdisciplinary perspective. Third, these spheres make it possible to synthesise diverse actors, practices, and trends, while also proposing an innovative conceptual apparatus for their analysis. The actors across the three spheres are compared in terms of structure and autonomy, forms of collectivity, types of transformation, and temporality. Together, they delineate a complex and multilayered picture of the contemporary „returned actor“ (A. Touraine) – simultaneously constrained, experimental, and contestatory.
