Summary/Abstract: The principle of proportionality, one of the important principles applicable to the activity of public administration, implies that the forms of action of public administration authorities must be appropriate to meet the public interest and maintain a balance in terms of the effects on individuals. The regulations or measures adopted or issued by these authorities and institutions are initiated and approved only after assessing the needs of the public interest or, as the case may be, the problems, risks and impact of the proposed solutions. This is enshrined as a general principle of EU law, but also in national law, as a basic principle of the activity of public administration authorities.
