Summary/Abstract: This paper explores constructive responses to organizational conflict as core elements of conflict-competent leadership. Based on the concept of constructive controversy, it distinguishes between active behaviors (perspective-taking, problem solving, emotional expression, reconciliation) and passive behaviors (reflection, delayed response, adaptation). The study argues that effective leaders consciously regulate their reactions and strategically apply these behaviors to prevent escalation, restore dialogue, and promote mutually beneficial outcomes. By transforming conflict from a source of polarization into an opportunity for learning and improvement, constructive leadership responses contribute directly to organizational effectiveness
