Summary/Abstract: This scholarly study examines conflict competence as a strategic attribute of contemporary leadership. It explores the relationship between leaders’ behavioral patterns, conflict management, and organizational effectiveness. The central argument advanced is that leadership does not derive from formal authority, but from consistent behavioral practices, particularly under conditions of tension, disagreement, and organizational crisis. The paper analyzes five strategic directions for constructive influence on conflict: maintaining composure, promoting fairness and safety, providing training and coaching, creating opportunities for learning, and embracing constructive conflict
