Summary/Abstract: The article addresses the issue of cognitive immunity of the individual in the context of global digitalization and the rapid advancement of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies. The authors analyze threats associated with algorithmic personalization and the erosion of existential authenticity within the information environment. Drawing on a theoretical review and empirical research conducted among a sample of undergraduate students (N = 453) from the first and second years of study across various disciplines (humanities, technical, and natural sciences) at universities in Central Russia and the Volga region, the study identifies dominant behavioral patterns, levels of trust in AI-generated content, and information verification practices. The findings reveal that the majority of respondents exhibit only a spontaneous “proto-ImmunIty,” characterized by situational caution but lacking systematic reflexivity and stable cognitive strategies. A five-stage model for the deliberate development of cognitive immunity is proposed, encompassing educational, social, and technological dimensions.
