Summary/Abstract: The aim of this article is to present how ontological and confessional threats affect Russian security and "confessional" policy. The concept of ontological security has been applied in international relations. Ontological security in world politics can be defined as the possession, on the level of the unconscious and practical consciousness, of answers to fundamental questions that all polities in some way, need to address such as state and individuals existence, relations with others and with their security. The analysis includes exemplifications of specific forms of ontological and confessional threats affecting the areas of Russian Federation state security and interreligious security, generated by war against Ukraine after 2022.
