Summary/Abstract: Recenzja książki:John J. Mearsheimer, Sebastian Rosato, Jak myślą państwa.Racjonalność w polityce zagranicznej (How States Think – The Rationalityof Foreign Policy), Wydawnictwo Prześwity, 304 ss. The aim of this article is to present how academics and esteemedscholars in international relations John J. Mearsheimer and Sebastian Rosato, present a compelling exploration of state behavior in their book, „How StatesThink: The Rationality of Foreign Policy.” The authors posit that to explore thepremise that states are rational actors, one must first understand what ration-ality is in contrast to, and what rational thought and behavior are like. Theauthors aim to answer two questions. First, what is rationality? Secondly, arestates rational? Mearsheimer is known for his seminal contributions to thetheory of offensive realism. Rosato, a rising star in the field, brings his exper-tise in international security and American foreign policy to this collaboration.Mearsheimer and Rosato explore the complexities of state decision-makingwhile questioning received wisdom and providing new perspectives on thelogic of foreign policy. The authors shed light on the complicated mental pro-cesses that influence the state’s behavior in the international arena throughmeticulous investigation and compelling arguments.
