Summary/Abstract: This article presents the key assumptions and challenges encountered by the creators of the E-Theseus Map, an online map of the myth of Theseus developed as part of the Digital Research Infrastructure for Humanities and Arts (DARIAH-PL) project. The text addresses the following topics: the concept of myth in digital projects; selecting an appropriate tool for visualising mythical spaces; the relationship between mythical stories and sources available in ancient literature; and developing an IT ontology suitable for the eMyth Map project.
