Summary/Abstract: This article proposes an innovative adaptation of Gilles Deleuze’s concept of deterritorialization within a biopolitical framework to examine the role of memorial culture in processes of social inclusion. Focusing on the deterritorialization of Holocaust memory, the study evaluates the biopolitical potential of testimonies – a theme largely overlooked in recent biopolitical scholarship. The analysis demonstrates how deterritorialization and reterritorialization provide a conceptual lens for exploring key biopolitical binaries, such as hospitality–hostility (Derrida) and immunity–community (Esposito). A further contribution lies in the investigation of the aestheticization of testimonies within reterritorialization processes, which shape both tangible (archives) and intangible (testimonies, values, traditions, beliefs) forms of heritage. These forms, the article argues, are essential for the social inclusion of communities historically subjected to planned and industrialized extermination. Ultimately, the solution advanced for the conceptual and moral challenges arising from the deterritorialization of Holocaust memorial culture lies in the reterritorialization of the impossibility of forgiveness. An essential contribution of this research is the connection it draws between the deterritorialization of memorial culture, in the wake of Deleuze’s philosophy, and the emergence of crypto-antisemitism as a discourse that fuses negationism with the distortions produced by the reterritorialization of Holocaust memory – an issue discussed by Adorno in several of his lectures and studies.
