STATISTICAL STUDY OF SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT - PROBLEMS AND CHALLENGES

Summary/Abstract: In the contemporary context of climate change, social inequalities and economic uncertainty, the topic of sustainable development remains highly relevant. Various approaches to its assessment are applied by international organizations and by the scientific community. The aim of the present study is to summarize different methods for studying sustainable development and to identify the main problems researchers encounter in its analysis. Given the abstract nature of the concept, it is necessary to identify individual indicators for characterizing the phenomenon of ‘sustainable development’, which can be analysed and can serve as a basis for calculating aggregated assessments.
