Summary/Abstract: In 2025, the Sejm and Senate of the Republic of Poland passed a resolution commemorating the Prussian homage paid in 1525 by Albert of Hohenzollern to the Polish King Sigismund I the Old. This marked the end of the Teutonic Order and the creation of the Duchy of Prussia, which, as a fief, was henceforth subordinate to the Kingdom of Poland. This prompted an investigation into whether past and present musical culture had produced works devoted to this topic. An analysis of the content of past and present dictionaries, music encyclopedias, and source materials revealed that no composer had written such a work from the 16th to the 21st century, and there are also few works directly or indirectly referring to King Sigismund I. It was also noted that the monarch was always remembered by Poles and although his political actions were assessed differently, he ultimately deserved to be commemorated by his compatriots, which is why the 500th anniversary of the tribute was given the rank of an important event in the history of the state.
