Summary/Abstract: The establishment of the year 2025 as the Millennium Year of the Coronation of Bolesławthe Brave as the first king of Poland, prompted the idea of examining whether composers haveshown interest in the figure of this king. The focus of musical attention on the figures of rulers, military commanders or outstanding figures of political and social life dates back to Classi-cism (1750–1830). For this reason, there are very few works dedicated to Bolesław. Two songsfor voice with piano accompaniment: by C. Beydale and by S. Moniuszko were written duringthe 19th century. Two further compositions: by Z. Moczyński for male choir and piano or or-chestra and by F. Nowowiejski for mixed choir, tenor, reciter and orchestra or piano, were writ-ten in the 20th century, in connection with the celebrations of the 900th anniversary of the coro-nation of Bolesław the Brave. In the 21st century, performers refer to his character and post theirvocal and musical interpretations on the Internet.
