Summary/Abstract: The article is divided into four parts. In the first one, the author examines the consistency between the entries in Mały słownik ortograficzny. Nowe zasady pisowni i interpunkcji 2026 and the spelling and punctuation rules (in force since 2026) issued by the Council for the Polish Language. The second part addresses the clarity of decisions concerning the selection of entries, the consistency of the structure of entries relating to similar types of expressions, and the coherence of these decisions with respect to comparable semantic categories. The third part highlights new spelling issues arising from the introduced changes, which require regulation either through separate provisions to be introduced in Zasady pisowni i interpunkcji or, at the very least, through a supplement to the existing regulations. In the final part, the author discusses the method of publishing the dictionary, with particular attention to the procedure for introducing further revisions, and calls for greater transparency in the implementation of corrections.
