Summary/Abstract: This article examines the history of the 13th Infantry Division of the Polish Army in 1945–1946. Its existence was brief and has hitherto received little scholarly atten-tion. The division was formed in the spring of 1945. It was stationed in the Silesian Military District, where it took part in the protection of the Polish–Czechoslovak border. However, the military authorities decided to disband it in late 1945 due to financial constraints; the process was completed in early 1946.
