Summary/Abstract: The media and information education model operating in France is highly developed and firmly embedded in the state's educational and cultural policy. This system is based on centralised structures, with a clear involvement of state institutions, which testifies to its state-controlled nature. The analysis covered the key components of the French approach to media and information literacy, including the institutions responsible for its implementation, the mechanisms of implementation and the target groups of these policies. The results of the study indicate that although the system functions effectively in operational terms, it needs to be redefined in terms of both setting priorities and identifying recipients. This need stems primarily from the dynamic socio-political changes occurring in contemporary France, which the current media and information education formula does not fully take into account.
