Summary/Abstract: Talent as a human resource is playing an increasingly important role in the 21st century, both at the educational and social levels (Subotnik, Olszewski-Kubilius & Worrell, 2011). This is especially true in minority communities, where the cultural and linguistic environment poses special challenges (Balogh,2004; Czeizel, 1997). For Hungarian communities in the Carpathian Basin, talent development not only serves to develop individual abilities, but also to maintain community identity and preserve cultural heritage (Pfeiffer, 2012; Freeman, 2010). The aim of this study is to review the international and domestic foundations of talent theories, present the talent management practices of Hungarian communities in the Carpathian Basin, and propose directions for future development.
