Summary/Abstract: Italian antitrinitarians in the city of Cluj between missionary-educational vocation and freedom of conscience. The study addresses the topic of the presence of Italian anti-Trinitarians in Transylvania in the second half of the 16th century. Considered on the periphery of Christendom, with a political regime that interfered much less with the power of the Catholic Church against the partisans of the Reformation, Transylvania was regarded by many Italian anti-Trinitarians as a territory where freedom of manifestation of religious belief was permitted. Most often the way they expressed themselves was theological, medical, but especially educational. Most of the Italian antitrinitarians taught in schools in Transylvania, especially in Cluj, Alba Iulia and Sibiu, being an example of freedom of conscience and the missionary vocation they assumed in distributing their knowledge. Thanks to these Italian antitrinitarians, Transylvania was considered for Western religious culture, a territory of religious tolerance.
