Summary/Abstract: In this paper we offer the transcription and ethno-culinary analysis of an interview given to us in April 2025 by Mrs. Anna Schaal (69 years old), a descendant of German settlers from the locality of Mihail Kogălniceanu (formerly Caramurat), Constanța County. The interlocutor's family was among the ethnic Germans relocated from Dobrogea to the Czech Republic in 1941 through an agreement between the Nazi and Antonescu regimes, and following the Second World War they settled in the FRG. Here, the generation of grandparents and parents largely continued the Dobrogean lifestyle, characterized by gardening and self-management, as well as by specific socio-cultural values. The interlocutor belongs to the second generation of migration, respectively the first born in Germany. Although she did not live in Dobrogea, through her family upbringing, a good part of the culture of the Dobrogean Germans was transmitted to her. It is significant that she preserves many of her parents' culinary habits, including traditional recipes with Russian and Romanian influences. Currently, she is deepening this style of cooking on her own, using cookbooks and Romanian gastronomy courses. At the same time, she considers herself a continuer of the traditions of this community, which in Romania has been in dissolution for several decades. The interview was conducted online and is part of the GAR 2023–029 ADELIS research project, funded by the Romanian Academy.
