A Few Remarks on the Position of Translations of Slovak Literature in the Czech Literary Field (Through the Lens of Sociology of Literature)

Summary/Abstract: This article presents selected contemporary answers to the old questionof the need for literary translation from Slovak into Czech. It also draws attentionto the implications of the question of the legitimacy of this translation. To describe theplace occupied by translated Slovak literature in the Czech literary field, I propose thepractical application of the language of sociology of literature.
