Summary/Abstract: This study examines the theological and spiritual foundations of St. Sophrony Sakharov’s teaching on deification. It analyzes how the human potential for participation in the divine life is actualized in spiritual practice through asceticism, prayer, and communion. The study emphasizes that deification is a dynamic and transformative process, highlighting the significance of the hypostasis as the locus of the personal experience of communion with God. Furthermore, it underscores the centrality of union with Christ as the ultimate horizon of the entire Christian existence and the full realization of communion with God.
