Summary/Abstract: The origin or prototype of the concept of mutual care is actually mirrored in God’s care for His creation in general and for humankind in particular. Man received his wife for help and support, and each of the spouses must contribute, by word and deed, by example and care, to the salvation of one other and of their entire family. The Christian family must also be seen as a place of mutual humility and dedication, each of the spouses being primarily concerned with achieving each other’s happiness as well as that of the children their family has been blessed with. Only a sacrificial love, in which the spouses offer themselves to each other unconditionally, can maintain within any family the concepts of mutual care and support between man and wife but also between children and their parents.
