Summary/Abstract: Important event in the history of numerous congregations established by Honorat Koźmiński, Capuchin (1829-1916), was a final recognition of them as a category of religious institutes, and then defining spirituality of each of them in constitutions of individual institutes, as well as the approval by competent Church authority in 1908. Therefore constitutions include an essence of thoughts and intentions of the Founder, called now charism, which Founder received from the Holly Spirit, and then transferred it to the members of institute, so they can live the way, as it was expressed in constitutions. Intention of the Authoress is to show an importance of constitution for spirituality of institutes, because for modern religious, such statement may seem greatly exaggerated. They usually include Founder's letters and other documents regarding charism of institute to basic sources of spirituality. Meanwhile, constitutions precisely have the following titles in some institutions: "rules of life", "way of life" or "method of life", also the spiritual life. On the other hand, Church lawmaker, in Cannon Law Code of 1983, calls them directly the fundamental code, that is crucial, basic, most prominent, primary, constitutive, and most important book for institution members. It also obliges religious to follow Christ the way it was showed in Gospel, and expressed - of course - in own institute constitutions.
