Summary/Abstract: Fire protection is generally a set of measures that can prevent fires from occurring and limit their consequences. From the perspective of the fire protection unit, this involves ensuring not only fire protection but also overall safety in the given area. Not only every municipality and the state in the form of a fire brigade, but also some companies and the army are required to establish a fire protection unit. The main objective of this article is to provide a comprehensive and structured description of the legal basis and use of joint units under the current Fire Protection Act. It is not only a description and interpretation of the relevant provisions, but also a systematic description of related areas, types of fire protection units, and the possibilities for their establishment. To achieve this goal, not only available sources are used, but also materials from the Ministry of the Interior - General Directorate of the Fire and Rescue Service of the Czech Republic, and last but not least, our own experience and consultations with experts.
