Summary/Abstract: This article analyzes the negative effects of the use of artificial intelligence in the process of foreign language acquisition within engineering study programs. It discusses risks such as technological dependency, superficial learning, the reduction of authentic interaction, the standardization of academic language, epistemic errors, and ethical issues related to academic integrity. The study argues for the necessity of a controlled integration of AI tools so that they support the educational process without replacing the development of autonomous linguistic competences.
