Summary/Abstract: This article attempts to answer the question of what legal and social possibilities exist for the peaceful coexistence of the Polish community living in Ukraine. Their presence in this country is not accidental; throughout the Soviet era, all national activities were restricted by the state authorities. This situation changed with Ukraine's declaration of independence in 1991. Today, in the face of war, it is pertinent to ask whether legal and political obstacles still exist to the cultivation of national and cultural identity by the Polish community, citizens of Ukraine. Does this national and ethnic minority have adequate conditions for conducting educational, social, and religious activities? It should be emphasized that political events such as the Orange Revolution of 2004 and the Revolution of Dignity of 2014 unequivocally revealed the Polish state's position towards Ukraine. In light of this information, it is reasonable to seek answers to the question of how contemporary Ukraine is implementing its good neighbor policy today. Is its international doctrine similar to the Polish position, at least in the social sphere, implemented in state‑ citizen relations, respecting the rights of national and ethnic minorities concentrated in the state?
