Polish Society in the Face of Transformation: The Impact of Ukrainian Migration on Structural, Legal, and Social Changes in the Context of the War in Ukraine. Institutionalization of Rights for Holders of the Pole’s Card and UKR Status

Summary/Abstract: After Poland’s accession to the EU, Ukraine faced a political dilemma: whether to pursue inte-gration with the European community or remain on its periphery. The choice made by Ukrain-ian society unfolded in stages, marked by political upheavals such as the Orange Revolution in2004 and the Revolution of Dignity at the turn of 2013/2014, culminating in the armed conflictwith Russia in 2022. Today, both Poland and the European Union are undergoing significanttransformations that can no longer halt the will of the Ukrainian people. Migration to Europehas become a reality, and its intensity shows no signs of diminishing. The legal frameworksadopted by Poland and the EU represent the response of key political decision-makers regard-ing the principles of European integration. This article offers a partial analysis of those legalsolutions and their implementation stages.
