Summary/Abstract: This article highlights the decisive contribution of Saint Basil the Great to the defense and consolidation of the unity of the orthodox faith within the turbulent doctrinal context of the fourth century. In an era marked by Arian controversies and profound ecclesiastical tensions, his theological, pastoral, and epistolary activity reveals a constant concern for preserving the integrity of Nicene teaching and restoring communion among the local Churches. An examination of his writings—especially his correspondence—demonstrates not only doctrinal rigor but also a sustained diplomatic and spiritual effort aimed at overcoming divisions and strengthening ecclesial unity. Saint Basil thus emerges as a firm defender of orthodoxy and, at the same time, a committed promoter of communion, for whom the unity of the Church represented the living expression of the truth of faith.
