Summary/Abstract: This article aims to analyze how the Romanian state has responded to a series of major crises from a historical and legal-political perspective. It examines both events from the modern era, such as the abdication of Alexandru Ioan Cuza or the interwar constitutional crisis, and more recent episodes, such as the pandemic crisis or presidential suspensions. The aim of this paper is to highlight how the constitutional architecture and successive political regimes have influenced the state’s capacity to respond. The analysis seeks to identify patterns in crisis management, as well as to highlight the role played by the law in limiting or, conversely, in amplifying abuses of power. Finally, conclusions are drawn regarding current opportunities for institutional and constitutional reform.
