Summary/Abstract: There is no religion that does not know priesthood. In all religions, a certain category of people is regarded as an intermediary between their fellow human beings and the divinity, offering sacrifices and prayers on their behalf, and, from the side of the divinity, mediating an abundance of material and spiritual gifts bestowed upon the people.
