Summary/Abstract: The present study aims to investigate the complex relationship between the biblical text and archaeological discoveries concerning the Canaanite cities as they are mentioned in the Old Testament. Between what Holy Scripture recounts and what archaeological research brings to light, a fertile space opens for theological, historical, and hermeneutical reflection. The cities of Canaan are not merely geographical markers or historical sites; they play a major symbolic and theological role in understanding the history of salvation within the Old Testament tradition.
