Summary/Abstract: In this article, we aim to examine the theories formulated by Paul Ricoeur, Charles Taylor, and Anthony Kwame Appiah on identity, with the goal of gaining a comprehensive understanding of the concept and identifying the most significant elements in the construction of identity. This study clarifies the philosophical conceptual framework that will support our thematic literary analysis of the work of contemporary French writer Daniel Pennac and constitutes an important stage of our doctoral research, entitled "Quest for Identity and the Journey of Resilience in the Work of Daniel Pennac."
