Summary/Abstract: This article aims to present the concept of augmentation as it appears in Romanian lexicography, primarily by referencing the sources published under the authority of the Romanian Academy and later other dictionaries. The purpose of consulting general Romanian language dictionaries (DELR, DA, DL, DM, DEX, DOOM, DCR, DLR) is to familiarize ourselves with the direct meaning of the concept of augmentation according to the definitions, which is that of growth or increase in all directions and on all levels. This is because the vocabulary of our language is rich in synonymous variations regarding augmentation.
