Summary/Abstract: The article explores the evolution of educational technologies in the teaching of history, emphasizing the balance between traditional didactic principles and the innovative potential of generative artificial intelligence (AI). It pre-sents a methodological framework for integrating generative AI into history and civilization lessons, viewing the technology not as a substitute for the teacher, but as a didactic mediator that supports analysis, interpretation, and creative thinking. Through a practical model of a lesson on „The Seven Wonders of the Ancient World“, the study demonstrates how AI can be used to visualize historical sources, stimulate critical reflection, and foster ethical and digital literacy. The inclusion of project-based learning activities such as „The Wonders of the New World“ encourages students to draw parallels between the achievements of ancient civilizations and modern innovations, reinforcing the connection between the past and the present. The results high-light the potential of generative AI to transform history education into an interactive, reflective, and value-oriented process that cultivates historical understanding and digital competence in the 21st century.
