Summary/Abstract: Romanian culture developed over time in the courtyards of monasteries and Orthodox churches, Christianity being the religion of worshiping God and valuing people. The servants of Christ’s Church, in order to fulfill their mission of forming „perfect men for the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ” (cf. Ephesians 4:13), struggled not only for the spiritual salvation of their fellow men, but also for their education in the spirit of truth and justice. We can say that the Church and the School occupied an important place in the communities of the historical Banat region and were major factors in modernizing society, fostering national sentiment, and preserving the Romanian language.
