Summary/Abstract: The so-called Baroque period is the richest in expression in the entire history of Western civilization. This variety of expressions is enhanced by the intense movement of forms, and it can be said that Europe has never been so united artistically. The late penetration of the Baroque style into Banat in the third decade of the 18th century creates its main characteristic - it becomes a reflection not of the aristocratic counter-reformation, but of the secular and functional Enlightenment, taking on, within its provincial limits, a classicized form, completely different from that of Transylvania. As regards church architecture. The penetration of the Baroque style can be traced through the transformation of monuments from the previous epoch and the erection of new churches, generally in place of wooden ones. This gives rise to its main characteristic: it becomes a reflection not of the aristocratic counter-reformation. The intense movement of forms enhances this variety of expressions.
