Summary/Abstract: Demographic changes in the form of depopulation and population ageing pose a serious challenge to the functioning of society and the economy. Their negative consequences are visible on a micro and macro scale and generate the need for decisions and actions aimed at mitigating them at all levels. The aim of the study was to identify selected variables influencing demographic changes taking place in cities in the West pomeranian Voivodeship. The indirect objective, on the other hand, was to present the consequences of the changes described for the areas under study. The study covered all the cities of the voivodeship, 66 in number. The data used in the study was taken from the database of the central Statistical office – Bank of local data for the years 2017–2023.
