Summary/Abstract: Each historical region bears a distinct imprint of how faith was expressed in the configuration and adornment of places of worship. Banat is the place where multiculturalism, multiethnicity, and religious diversity have created particularities, specificities, and distinctions that are present at all historical stages and in social and cultural dynamics. In this context, the churches built in Banat have a turbulent history, subject to frequent political changes, as well as cultural and social developments and influences. The wooden churches of the Banat communities, which were numerous at the beginning of the 18th century, began to decline as they were replaced by wall churches. The history of Banat’s wooden churches, now deserted, is interesting and not at all monotonous. It is not just that churches were built by local craftsmen or craftsmen from other areas, which, over time, have perished. Documents and tradition also speak of churches displaced from one part of Banat to another or brought from parts of Transylvania.
