Summary/Abstract: This study examines how students in a Pedagogy of Primary and Preschool Education (PPPE) program perceive the opportunity and relevance of the Primary School Teacher qualification in the labor market. A survey of 124 PPPE undergraduates at the University of Oradea assessed their views on labor market needs for teachers, satisfaction with their curriculum, and the perceived applicability of skills acquired during training. Results show that an overwhelming majority of students consider the teaching qualification both highly necessary and relevant for employment in education, with over 64% rating the societal need for their qualification as “High”. More than 89% of students report being satisfied or very satisfied with the content of their teacher education curriculum, and 72% rate the skills gained as “highly relevant” to their future career. Nearly all students attach great importance to core competencies like pedagogical knowledge, communication, ethics, teamwork, and self-improvement. Minor differences by year of study were observed: e.g. third-year students felt even more strongly about the necessity of the qualification and the value of research skills than first-year ones. Overall, the findings indicate that PPPE students perceive their training as valuable and well-aligned with labor market expectations.
