Summary/Abstract: In wooden churches in general, the painting is preserved fragmentarily in most cases, being in a poor state of preservation with dirt, detachments, and scratches, but most wooden churches have not been painted or have lost their pictorial veil over time. The territory of Banat is no exception to these general characteristics. Most of the wooden churches do not have painted walls, with more consistent elements of painting being found in the iconostasis area or on the movable icons in the churches. But the iconographic art adorning most wooden churches and their liturgical heritage objects are important because they are the defining elements of the general iconographic typicality. On their basis, each individual church can be analyzed in detail, the necessary analogies can be made, and the artistic elements can be framed in time and space.
